Mobile Computing Platform (MCP)
Providing complete network and video management from soldier, vehicle and command centers
The Harris Mobile Computing Platform (MCP) allows the transfer of data from different networks, up-echelon and down-echelon, providing complete network and video management for routing video from the solider level, vehicle, command center throughout the system. With its Linux-based operating system, the MCP is flexible enough to integrate with a variety of different networking equipment, Vetronics systems, and multimedia applications. It provides all this functionality while consuming a low power draw from the platform and is designed with a small footprint to maximize the capability over space and power draw required.
This powerful, rugged server is designed to host mission critical military and public safety communications and multimedia applications. The MIL-STD-810 design supports wheeled and tracked vehicle deployments, and operation in challenging EMI/RFI environments is assured by the MIL-STD-461 design. In contrast to other rugged server platforms, the MCP brings a unique combination of a standard Ethernet switch, USB host and mulitpurpose serial ports, video encoder and GigE interfaces, all on a single platform.
